Honda builds multiple models on the same production lines in Vietnam. Vietnam is known as a "motorcycle kingdom" along with India and Indonesia, but is the first among them to show signs of market saturation.

Far from resting on its laurels, Honda is responding to changes in the market. Bike sales have plateaued over the past five years, as the market has grown saturated in big cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Earlier, simply mass-producing some models was enough. Honda plans to sell In Vietnam, the company sold 1,, motorbikes last year. Honda was among the first Japanese bike makers to cultivate the Southeast Asian market, launching Thai production in Yamaha is also working to strengthen its Southeast Asian sales network.

To break through the status quo, Honda is sharpening its focus on regional cities in Vietnam. As early as this year, the company will offer credit sales targeting agricultural workers, in collaboration with a local partner. It has also revamped a system of evaluating dealerships. It now assesses each location based on criteria, such as visitor counts and product displays, graded with scores of up to 1, points. The MSX series imported from Thailand and other limited models can enter the race.

Last year, it took place in four places, including Binh Duong Province and Da Nang City, with or so participants. As the country's economy grows, the motorcycle market faces competition from cars.
